Stephen Colbert to Host Late-Night Reunion Before Final Episode

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will include a reunion with several fellow late-night hosts before it ends its run on CBS. Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers and John Oliver are scheduled to appear together on the program on Monday, May 11. The gathering marks a reunion of the Strike Force Five podcast the hosts launched in 2023 during the Writers Guild of America strike.

Profits from the podcast went to crew members of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers who did not receive pay during the strike.

Colbert’s predecessor on The Late Show, David Letterman, will appear separately on Thursday, May 14. Letterman retired from the program in 2015 and handed it over to Colbert. CBS canceled The Late Show in 2025, citing financial reasons. The final episode will air on Tuesday, May 21.

The program’s time slot will be filled by Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen.

The cancellation occurred as Paramount, the parent company of CBS, paid a settlement of $16 million to Trump and required approval from the Trump-controlled FCC for its merger with Skydance. Colbert has been a vocal critic of Trump. Letterman told The New York Times he believes the cancellation was connected to the network sale.

He noted that less than two years before the cancellation, the network had sought to sign him to a long-term contract. The show’s next week’s guests include Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Pedro Pascal, Tom Hanks and former President Barack Obama.
