Stephen Curry Signs 10-Year, $400 Million Li-Ning Deal After Leaving Under Armour
The Golden State Warriors guard left Under Armour in November 2025 and selected the Chinese sportswear company over higher offers from other brands. The agreement covers basketball gear, golf apparel, and athleisure lines.
ESPNStephen Curry signed a 10-year endorsement contract valued at $400 million with Li-Ning, a sports apparel company based in China. The agreement was announced on social media on June 1 or 2, 2026, by the 38-year-old guard for the Golden State Warriors. The deal covers basketball gear, a complete golf line, athleisure clothing, and the right for Curry to sign additional athletes to the brand.
Li-Ning plans to open Curry Brand shops in both China and the United States. Curry left Under Armour in November 2025 and chose Li-Ning after testing sneakers worn by teammate Jimmy Butler and former player Dwyane Wade, both signature athletes for the company. ESPN reported that at least one other company offered Curry more money.
Jeff Austin, Curry’s agent, completed the negotiations. The initial social media announcement did not disclose specific contract terms. The United States banned Li-Ning merchandise in 2022 after the government and human rights groups identified the company as using forced labor.
Rep. Chris Smith, a Republican from New Jersey and co-chair of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China, stated on June 2, 2026, that he plans to request the Department of Homeland Security to inspect imports from Li-Ning. “Steph Curry is one of the most talented and watched basketball players in the world, which is exactly why this matters,” Smith said.
