The Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions face severe storms and possible flash flooding on Tuesday, ABC News reported. , Baltimore and Philadelphia. Numerous severe thunderstorms with destructive winds and tornadoes are possible in that zone.
Rounds of heavy rain and strong storms will cross the Ohio Valley through lunchtime before reaching the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic in the afternoon and evening. Areas along the Interstate 95 corridor could receive two rounds of storms, with the larger round arriving between about 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
To Philadelphia to New York City. Flood watches are in effect from Delaware to southern New York. Rainfall rates could exceed 1 inch per hour in those areas, raising the risk of urban flooding. More than 1,000 flights have been canceled ahead of the storms, with airports in New York City and Baltimore recording the largest disruptions.
The Tuesday threat follows heavy rain that flooded streets in New York City on Saturday.
