Swedish Support for Euro Adoption Falls Further, Majority Opposes Joining

Support in Sweden for adopting the euro has declined over the past year, while a majority of Swedes oppose joining the currency used by a majority of European Union nations, a national statistics office poll showed. The poll measured both current levels of support and opposition regarding euro adoption. It recorded the shift in opinion compared with results from one year earlier.

Sweden remains outside the euro area. The national statistics office conducted the survey and released the findings on public attitudes toward currency change.
