J. Hinch told reporters. Hinch said on SiriusXM that Skubal was ready to face hitters Tuesday morning and that the session could be a short simulated game. Skubal has stated he wants to return as quickly as possible while remaining healthy. Last week he noted that few pitchers in baseball history have thrown a one-inning simulated start 15 days after elbow surgery.
Hinch said no step in the recovery process will be skipped and that Skubal will not be rushed. The manager declined to commit to a traditional minor-league rehabilitation assignment when asked on SiriusXM.
