Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce plan to host a rehearsal dinner on Thursday and a larger celebration on Friday at Madison Square Garden, CBS News reported, citing two law enforcement sources familiar with the security planning. The events extend Swift's decades-long ties to the venue.
She first performed there in 2003 during a Knicks halftime talent competition, singing an unreleased song called "Lucky You" at age 12 or 13.
Swift later told TIME in a 2014 interview that the experience created a "sparkly, magical opinion" of the arena. She returned for full concerts on the Fearless Tour in August 2009 and the Speak Now World Tour in November 2011. " Swift also appeared at five iHeartRadio Jingle Ball shows there, including the December 13, 2019 edition that coincided with her 30th birthday.
Onstage that night she told the crowd she had chosen Madison Square Garden for the occasion. Swift has referenced the venue in her music, including in the song "The Lucky One" on the album Red. She most recently attended a Knicks game courtside at the arena during Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals on June 10.
CBS News reported that the upcoming events mark the first time Swift has chosen the venue for personal celebrations of this scale since her 2019 birthday show.
