Team Wales squad reaches 115 athletes after weightlifter added via reallocated spot

Team Wales will field 115 athletes at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow after weightlifter Charlotte Whalley was added to the squad, bbc.co.uk reported. Whalley received a reallocated qualification spot after 114 athletes were named last week. The reallocation process awards unused places to the next highest-ranked eligible athletes who meet required international performance standards.
Chef de mission Gethin Jones welcomed the development. "We are delighted to welcome Charlotte to Team Wales for Glasgow 2026," he said. " Jones noted the milestone. "Reaching 115 athletes is a significant milestone for Team Wales and demonstrates the strength and depth of talent we have across Welsh sport," he stated.
The Games take place between 23 July and 2 August.
