The agreement, announced on July 19, includes live coverage of every match in the Champions League, Europa League, Conference League and Super Cup.
Broadcasts will appear across NBCUniversal’s platforms, including Peacock, Universo and Telemundo Deportes Ahora. The package arrives after Telemundo posted sharp gains during the 2026 World Cup. Through the semifinals the network averaged a total audience of 6 million viewers, up 147 percent from the same stage in 2022.
A record 50 million people watched the U.S. team’s round-of-16 match across all broadcasters, and an 11.4 million audience tuned in for Argentina’s semifinal win on Telemundo and Peacock. NBCUniversal chairman Cesar Conde said the World Cup revealed an existing American soccer audience rather than creating one.
“Premium soccer is just one of those truly global experiences that’s leapt out in the media ecosystem,” he said. Chairman Luis Fernández of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises added that the company’s strategy centers on “live TV, live TV, live TV,” with soccer offering uniquely broad appeal. Telemundo already holds Spanish-language rights to the Premier League, the Olympics, U.S.
National team matches and selected Liga MX clubs. On July 17 it announced it will carry more than 100 Bundesliga matches per season. The network reaches 96 percent of U.S. Hispanic television households.
