Telstra, Australia's largest telecom company, said more than 200,000 of its customers connect to Starlink Mobile each day. 7 million customers have used the service at least once in the year since launch. The company highlighted the practical uses behind the numbers.

"What stands out to us the most is not the numbers themselves, but what they represent. A message home from a remote road, a quick check-in during a trip away, or peace of mind in places beyond the range of our mobile network," Telstra stated. SpaceX plans to begin launching next-generation V2 Starlink Mobile satellites in 2027.

The new satellites are designed to deliver 5G speeds from space and provide 100 times the data density of the current V1 generation. Each V2 satellite is expected to support speeds up to 150 Mbps. The satellites will enable streaming, internet browsing, high-speed apps, and voice calls in the same manner as a terrestrial network.

The V2 satellites will feature thousands of spatial beams and higher bandwidth capability. They are projected to deliver roughly 20 times the throughput of first-generation satellites.
