Terrion Arnold Clears Waivers and Becomes Free Agent After Lions Release Amid Robbery and Kidnapping Charges

Former Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold cleared waivers Monday afternoon and became a free agent, ESPN reported. The 23-year-old was released by the team last week after his arrest on felony charges of armed robbery and kidnapping in Tampa, Florida. Arnold turned himself in on June 24.

Hillsborough County Judge Christopher Sabella set bond at $1 million. Arnold posted bond and was released from custody last Tuesday. The judge ordered him not to contact the six co-defendants or witnesses in the case.

Arnold must remain at his Tallahassee residence except when playing, training or traveling with an NFL team, or attending court or legal appointments. He was required to surrender his passport within 48 hours. Authorities accused Arnold of orchestrating the abduction and beating of three men.

Prosecutors said the three men stole luxury goods and $100,000 in cash from Arnold. The victims were taken three days after cash and items including Rolex watches and Louis Vuitton bags were reported stolen from an Airbnb rental in the Tampa area. Six associates carried out the crimes by holding, beating and pistol-whipping the victims, according to prosecutors.

Arnold was not present during the crimes. The Lions selected Arnold in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft out of Alabama. He had two years and $4.8 million remaining on his rookie contract at the time of his release.

Arnold is expected to visit NFL teams that have expressed interest in signing him, ESPN reported.
