Terrion Arnold Clears Waivers but Remains Under Court Restrictions as Free Agent

Terrion Arnold cleared waivers on Monday and became an unrestricted free agent. The Detroit Lions released the 23-year-old cornerback last week after his arrest on felony charges of armed robbery and kidnapping. Arnold turned himself in on June 24 in Tampa, Florida.

Hillsborough County Judge Christopher Sabella set bond at $1 million. Arnold posted the bond and was released from custody last Tuesday. The judge ordered Arnold to have no contact with six co-defendants or witnesses.

He must remain confined to his Tallahassee residence except for NFL team activities or court appearances and surrender his passport within 48 hours. Authorities accused Arnold of orchestrating the abduction and beating of three men. Prosecutors said the victims stole luxury goods and $100,000 in cash from Arnold at an Airbnb rental in the Tampa area three days before the incident.

The stolen items included Rolex watches and Louis Vuitton bags. Six associates carried out the crimes by holding, beating and pistol-whipping the victims, though Arnold was not present. The Lions selected Arnold in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft out of Alabama.

He had been scheduled to start on the outside opposite D.J. Reed and had two years and $4.8 million remaining on his rookie contract. Arnold is expected to visit NFL teams that have expressed interest in signing him.
