Tesla Expands Robotaxi Operations in Texas and Reports Higher Sales in Europe

The company expanded its Robotaxi operations in Texas this week with more than 20 unsupervised vehicles now active in Austin along with three each in Houston and Dallas. The rollout occurs as the company continues to develop the service, which remains behind the deployment scale of Alphabet Inc.'s Waymo. The company also secured a new order for its Semi truck during the week.

Sales in France, Denmark, the Netherlands and Sweden showed strong growth in April. French sales increased 112 percent while sales in Sweden rose 111 percent from the prior year. The gains come as the company continues its expansion efforts across the European market.

The company has maintained its focus on increasing vehicle deliveries and service capabilities in the region. Growth in these four countries provides additional revenue from the European segment.

The company has increased the number of operational Robotaxis in key Texas cities. Austin now has more than 20 unsupervised vehicles while Houston and Dallas each have three. The expansion represents a step forward in the company's autonomous vehicle program even as it trails competitors in overall scale.
