Tesla Opens U.S. Orders for Six-Seater Model Y L at $61,990
Tesla began taking U.S. orders Thursday for the Model Y L, a three-row version of its SUV priced from $61,990. The vehicle has been on sale in China since last August and will reach U.S. customers in October.

Tesla opened U.S. orders on Thursday for the Model Y L, a three-row electric SUV with a starting price of $61,990. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in October. The company introduced the Model Y L in China last August. Local media reported more than 120,000 units sold in the first month.
The first two rows include heated and ventilated seats and touchscreens. The third row offers power reclining and one-touch folding. Tesla states the Model Y L provides 325 miles of range, compared with 321 miles for the base Model Y and 306 miles for the Model Y Performance.
A limited "Launch Series" will include special badging, luxury interior features, and 12 months of free Supercharging and Full Self-Driving capability. The Model Y L launch follows the earlier discontinuation of the Model S and Model X. Tesla reported sales of more than 480,000 vehicles in the second quarter.
