Tesla has partnered with GIGA Storage to develop a battery energy storage facility in Belgium, @SawyerMerritt reported. The project carries an estimated cost of $700 million and will provide 2.8 GWh of storage capacity. The installation will use Tesla's next-generation Megablock technology paired with Megapack version 3.
Production of Megapack version 3 is scheduled to begin in late 2026. The completed facility is projected to help power 385,000 homes and will rank among the largest battery energy storage sites in Europe. Tesla will manage the full engineering, procurement and construction scope.
The company will also supply the batteries, handle commissioning and provide long-term maintenance for the project.
