Tesla Publishes Release Notes for FSD V14 Lite on Older Hardware Vehicles

Tesla published official release notes for a distilled 'Lite' version of FSD V14 intended for vehicles with older hardware. The notes state that intelligence from HW4 V14 was distilled into HW3 so the older hardware can learn directly from the newer version. This process brings reinforcement learning and offline models to HW3.

Proactive and reactive responsiveness improved in navigation handling, merges and forks, pedestrian interactions, traffic lights, and vehicle cut-in scenarios. General comfort rose through fewer false slowdowns, smoother steering, and more consistent lane centering. Parking, unparking, and reversing capabilities were added.

Drivers can now select arrival options for parking in a lot, on the street, in a driveway, or at the curbside. Speed profiles became available at all times to customize driving style.
