Houston Texans general manager told reporters on Friday that the team is not trading wide receiver Nico Collins. "We’re not trading Nico Collins," the general manager stated. "Whoever reported it or whatever information that they had, they can shove it. " Collins reportedly told teammates he believes he is underpaid.

Collins signed a three-year, $72.75 million extension after his third season. He is set to reach free agency after the 2027 season. Collins is entering his sixth NFL season, all with the Houston Texans.

In his third season, he recorded 80 receptions for 1,297 yards and eight touchdowns. Over his first two seasons combined, Collins had 70 receptions, 927 yards and three touchdowns. Collins has made two Pro Bowls.

He has recorded at least 1,000 yards in each of his last three seasons. Since 2023, Collins has ranked ninth in receiving yards and tied for eighth in touchdowns among NFL receivers. Collins is set to be the 18th-highest-paid receiver in the NFL.

Since Collins signed his deal, Ja'Marr Chase, CeeDee Lamb, Justin Jefferson and Jaxon Smith-Njigba have reached nine-figure deals. The quarterback is still on his rookie deal.
