Texas DOT Executive Comments on Tesla Cybercab Design and Operations

A Texas Department of Transportation executive posted comments on LinkedIn about Tesla's Cybercab vehicle. Marc Williams, Executive Director of the Texas DOT, said the introduction of the Cybercab will dramatically scale Tesla's robotaxi operations in Austin, Houston and Dallas over the coming months.

Williams highlighted design features including butterfly doors. He described the absence of traditional driver controls as a significant shift in mobility and vehicle design.

Williams said the transportation industry's focus remains on integrating advancing technologies to support safe and efficient movement. The comments come as Tesla continues development of its robotaxi program.
