Texas A&M Study: Alcohol Reduced Brain Circuit Activity in Amyloid Models but Increased It in Tau Models

New research from Texas A&M University found that chronic alcohol exposure produced opposite effects on the corticostriatal circuit depending on whether animal models carried amyloid-beta or tau pathology. In amyloid-beta models, alcohol reduced communication within the circuit. In tau models, alcohol increased it.
