Three Die After Tree Falls on Car in Georgia
A Georgia high school graduate, his girlfriend, and his father were killed when a tree struck their car on a highway two days after graduation. An 18-year-old driver in another vehicle suffered minor injuries.

The group had attended the Swainsboro High School graduation ceremony two days earlier. A second vehicle, a black Jeep Cherokee, was also struck by the falling tree. Its 18-year-old driver sustained minor injuries, according to WAFB.
Video posted on social media showed James Walker embracing his son on the school football field after the graduation. In the footage, James Walker, a former school employee, held orange balloons while hugging his son. Photos from the event also showed James Walker with his arms around both graduates. Tributes have been posted online describing Kencerio Walker as a leader who led by example.
Swainsboro school officials called the deaths a devastating accident and a heartbreaking loss. The mayor of Statesboro posted that the loss of the three individuals is heartbreaking beyond words and noted that what should have been a season of celebration has become a moment of sorrow. A vigil has been held for the two graduates.
