Three Men Convicted in 2016 Child Rape Case Released After Serving Part of Sentences

Three men convicted of raping and trafficking a 13-year-old girl in West Yorkshire were released from prison after serving less than half their sentences, GB News reported. Ismail Haji, then 39, was sentenced in 2016 to 19 years for three counts of rape, two counts of sexual activity with a child, two counts of grooming, and two counts of trafficking. He left prison in 2025.
Imran Haji, 36 at the time, received eight years for rape and trafficking at Leeds Crown Court and was released in 2019 after three years. Ibrahim Kola, also 36, was sentenced to 10 years for rape and trafficking and walked free in 2021 after five years. The victim first met Mohammed Chothia and Ismail Haji in August 2014 in Thornes Park, Wakefield.
She was introduced to Imran Haji and Kola before assaults took place at an address in Dewsbury. Chothia, a factory worker, was sentenced to 13 years for grooming, trafficking, and taking indecent photos of a child. His release status remains unclear.
West Yorkshire Police said the men had preyed on the most vulnerable people in the community. Detective Inspector Lis Walker stated after the sentencing that the men took advantage of young and vulnerable victims for the sole purpose of sexually abusing them.
