Thrifty Ice Cream Returns to Stores and Adds Nationwide Shipping
The 86-year-old ice cream brand is resuming sales after its former retailer closed stores. Thrifty products are now available through shipping and select grocery chains.
New York PostThrifty Ice Cream began offering nationwide shipping for 48-ounce tubs and 12-packs of ice cream cups on May 18. The brand is also placing products in grocery stores across Southern California. 6-ounce cups of Chocolate Malted Krunch, while Albertsons and Food4Less plan to add more flavors.
Cream was founded 86 years ago in West Hollywood.
Its cylindrical scoops and flavors such as Chocolate Malted Krunch, Rocky Road, and Mint ’N Chip became familiar to generations of Southern California customers. Last year, Rite Aid filed for bankruptcy and closed hundreds of stores, removing many Thrifty scoop counters from drugstore locations.
