Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jalen Williams left the court in the third quarter of Game 2 after suffering an apparent injury to his left hamstring during a 120-107 win over the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night. The injury occurred after Williams missed a contested layup on a fast break with 6:26 remaining in the third quarter.

ESPN reported that Williams grabbed his left leg and motioned toward the bench immediately afterward.

Williams appeared to mouth the words 'Left hammy' following the missed layup. He intentionally took a foul a couple of possessions later to exit the game and headed to the locker room for further evaluation. Williams did not return to the game and did not speak to the media before leaving the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.

'We think he aggravated his left hamstring,' head coach Mark Daigneault said. ' Williams recorded 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting and four assists in 23 minutes during Game 2. In Game 1, he had 22 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

'But I thought he was playing great obviously. Got really good shots for his teammates, especially early. So yeah, he was playing an outstanding game,' Daigneault said. Injuries limited Williams to 33 games during the regular season.

He missed the first 19 games of the season while recovering from surgery on a torn scapholunate ligament in his right wrist. The Thunder took a 2-0 lead in the first-round series, with Game 3 scheduled for Saturday in Phoenix.
