He is coming off a 2025-26 season in which he made 224 three-pointers at nearly 41 percent and appeared in 236 of a possible 246 regular-season games over the prior three seasons. " Hardaway Jr. said wearing it as an opponent had given him "a superpower" and that family discussions led to the decision to bring the number back into use after 17 years.
"I've been praying for this day," Hardaway Jr. said. " The Heat acquired Giannis Antetokounmpo during the 2026 offseason. Hardaway Jr. said the call to join was "kind of a no-brainer" given the need for shooting around Antetokounmpo and center Bam Adebayo.
