The Minnesota Timberwolves acquired LaMelo Ball and guard Josh Green in a four-team trade completed this week.
basketball operations Tim Connelly said the deal will elevate the team. "I think he'll elevate us," Connelly said, "and our environment will be conducive to his continued growth as well." Connelly also noted the team surrendered future first-round picks, including an unprotected selection in 2033. "Well, we have none for the next 10 years," he said.
The 24-year-old guard is entering his sixth NBA season. Coach Chris Finch said the team needs size in the backcourt. Connelly added that the organization wants to maintain a positive atmosphere after a second-round playoff exit. The team also re-signed guard Ayo Dosunmu after completing the trade.
