Timberwolves Unveil New Logo, Uniforms and Courts After Second-Round Playoff Exit
The team introduced designs that combine elements from its 1989-90 inaugural season and later eras with updated details. The changes follow a second-round playoff exit in 2026.
The Minnesota Timberwolves unveiled new logo, uniform and court designs on June 7, 2026. The team described the changes as a blend of familiar pieces of franchise history with the swagger, confidence and energy of the current roster. The association and icon uniforms use white, blue and green colors that match the palette from the team's 1989-90 inaugural season.
Both versions feature the classic three-stripe trim from the original uniforms, with thick and thin blue and green lines drawn from the city's natural palette. The numbers and Wolves chest mark are shaped like wolf fangs, and the association shorts carry the Old Shep logo. The statement uniform returns the pine tree-era black look that remained popular with fans.
It differs from the 1998-2008 inspired classic uniforms worn last season by placing Wolves in glowing blue and green outlines instead of Timberwolves in white and black. Pine trees appear as trim with a glowing blue edge inspired by Minnesota's 10,000-plus lakes.
All three uniforms include a custom Tree-M monogram on the belt buckle and a five-tree lineup above every jock tag, the latter a nod to the starting five.
The new logo shows the howling wolf in blue and green, similar to the version used from 1990 to 1996. The Timberwolves will have two new home courts, one statement design and one core design. Franchise legend Kevin Garnett posed in each of the new uniforms for the reveal.
Timberwolves & Lynx CEO Matt Caldwell said in a news release: "This franchise means something different to every generation of fans. We wanted this new look to reflect the pieces of Timberwolves basketball fans have always connected with, while also feeling true to the team and culture surrounding this franchise today.
" Ahead of the 2023-24 season the Timberwolves wore classic uniforms modeled on the original white set.
The association uniforms continue that theme with the Old Shep logo on the shorts. Minnesota lost to the San Antonio Spurs in the second round of the 2026 NBA playoffs, ending a streak of two straight Western Conference finals appearances.
