TNT Sports Keeps Champions League Final Behind Paywall
TNT Sports will require a subscription to watch the Champions League final between Arsenal and Paris St-Germain. The decision follows pressure from fans' groups and the prime minister. Highlights will be available on BBC platforms after the match.
TNT Sports will require viewers to subscribe to watch the Champions League final between Arsenal and Paris St-Germain on Saturday. The match will be played in Budapest, Hungary. The decision comes despite calls from fans' groups and the prime minister for the game to be shown free to air. It marks the first time since the competition began in 1992 that the final requires payment.
The prime minister wrote last Saturday that the final should remain free to watch. On Thursday the prime minister joined the Football Supporters' Association and other fans' groups in urging TNT Sports to reconsider. TNT Sports has broadcast the competition since 2015. The rights end after the 2026-27 season.
Viewers can access the match through a one-month HBO Max subscription starting at £4.99. Most Sky customers already receive HBO Max at no extra cost. Highlights will appear on the BBC Sport website and social media channels 15 minutes after the final whistle.
Full highlights will air later on BBC iPlayer and BBC television, with live commentary on BBC Radio 5 Live. The three major European finals this season have all been available only through paid services.
