Toronto Blue Jays Promote Austin Voth and Joe Mantiply to Major League Roster

The Toronto Blue Jays selected right-hander Austin Voth and left-hander Joe Mantiply to their major league roster on Sunday. Both players were available for the team's game against the Chicago White Sox in Chicago.

In corresponding moves, the Blue Jays optioned right-hander Lazaro Estrada and left-hander Brendon Little to Triple-A Buffalo. The team also transferred right-hander Cody Ponce and outfielder Anthony Santander to the 60-day injured list.

Austin Voth has a career record of 17-19 with a 4.70 ERA over seven major league seasons. This season, he appeared in one game with Buffalo, starting and allowing two runs in three innings.

Joe Mantiply has a career record of 11-13 with a 4.54 ERA over eight major league seasons, including the past six with the Arizona Diamondbacks. The 35-year-old pitched in two games with Buffalo this season.

Estrada and Little both pitched in relief during Toronto's 6-3 loss to the White Sox on Saturday. Estrada made his season debut, throwing four hitless innings after entering in the second inning following opener Mason Fluharty's allowance of one run in the first.

Little took the loss in that game, allowing three runs on home runs by Munetaka Murakami and Colson Montgomery while recording one out. He stands at 0-2 with a 24.55 ERA through five games this season.

These roster adjustments come amid the Blue Jays' ongoing season in the American League East. The promotions provide Toronto with additional pitching depth for upcoming games, while the injured list transfers free up roster spots. The team faces continued challenges in maintaining bullpen effectiveness, as evidenced by recent outings.
