Most incidents have been restored, and crews continue work on the remaining outages. The utility said it is prioritizing calls involving first responders.
Hydro stated that power restoration during severe weather involves securing sites, removing debris, replacing equipment, and testing systems before service returns. The company advised residents to stay at least 10 metres from any downed power line and to report it immediately.
"We know it's not easy being without power and thank everyone for their continued patience as our crews work to safely restore power," Toronto Hydro said.
Fire reported responding to 671 emergency incidents in the 24 hours after the storm. Call volume was 36 percent above normal, with reports of downed wires, water issues, and medical incidents.
