Tracy Shaw Admitted to A&E After High Temperatures Following Chemotherapy

GB News reported that Tracy Shaw was admitted to A&E after experiencing repeatedly high temperatures following chemotherapy. The 52-year-old, who portrayed Maxine Peacock on Coronation Street from 1995 to 2003, posted a video from her hospital bed on Instagram describing the visit. Shaw stated she delayed seeking medical attention due to the hot weather.

"It isn't easy coming in when we have cancer because there are a lot of people with - I'm not disregarding it - minor things, and some have just drank too much," she said. Shaw revealed her breast cancer diagnosis in April. She tested positive for HER2 and stated she would require five months of chemotherapy, with surgery to remove lumps and lymph glands to follow and potential additional procedures before radiotherapy.

Six days after chemotherapy, Shaw posted on social media that she had developed shingles with blisters. She stated the hospital air conditioning was not functioning during the heatwave. Shaw described three workmen who entered her room without masks to check the air conditioning.

She stated she typically wears a mask due to compromised immunity and that the NHS placed her in a separate room. She expressed gratitude to staff working in the heat without air conditioning.
