Trdo App Offers Free Radio Listening on Windows
Trdo is a free, open-source application that lets Windows users play online radio stations from the system tray. The program requires users to add stations manually or through its search tool.
WiredTrdo is a free, open-source application that lets Windows users play online radio stations from the system tray. Users install the program from the Microsoft Store and can pin it to the taskbar for quick access. The app shows no built-in stations at first.
Users can search for stations inside Trdo or add them manually by entering a PLS streaming link. Public Radio Fan and InternetRadio are two sites that list such links. Left-clicking the tray icon plays or pauses the current station.
Right-clicking opens a pop-up window with more controls. Keyboard pause buttons also work, but next and previous station buttons are not supported. Trdo records the songs it plays and keeps them in a scrollable list.
Users can tag favorite tracks and add optional links to Spotify, Discogs, Apple Music, and YouTube Music. The developer notes that online radio works best as a complement to streaming services rather than a replacement.
