Treasury yields rise ahead of Fed Chair Warsh speech

U.S. Treasury yields rose on Wednesday as investors awaited economic data and comments from Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh. The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note increased 4 basis points to 4.469 percent by 7:12 a.m. ET. The 2-year note added 3 basis points to 4.172 percent, while the 30-year yield rose 6 basis points to 4.963 percent.
Warsh appearance scheduled Warsh is scheduled to speak at the European Central Bank's annual policy forum in Sintra, Portugal. He will also join a panel discussion at 9 a.m. ET with CNBC's Sara Eisen and the governors of the Bank of England, European Central Bank, and Bank of Canada. Investors will watch the appearance for signals on the Fed's monetary policy path.
Data and market pricing Markets priced in a 66.3 percent chance the Fed will keep rates unchanged at its July meeting and a 66.9 percent chance of at least a quarter-point hike at the September meeting, according to the CME FedWatch tool. Additional data releases include the ISM Manufacturing PMI at 10 a.m. ET and ADP employment figures later in the morning.
