Children born between 2025 and 2028 will receive a $1,000 Treasury deposit in newly created Trump Accounts, with an extra $250 available for children ten and under in lower-income communities. The accounts were established by the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, signed into law last July 4. They are funded through private philanthropy rather than federal appropriations.
A $1,000 initial deposit plus $10 contributed weekly is projected to reach nearly $400,000 by age 60 through tax-advantaged compounding. Six million children have already been enrolled. An additional 1.4 million eligible children reside in Pennsylvania.
The same law eliminated taxes on tips and overtime and introduced tax credits for school choice and childcare. It passed the Senate by one vote. Michael and Susan Dell pledged $6.25 billion to seed accounts for 25 million children. Other wealthy donors have announced similar contributions. The accounts launch nationwide on July 4.
