The Trump administration is establishing a direct military hotline between US Central Command and Iran to prevent dangerous confrontations in the Strait of Hormuz, New York Post reported. The channel emerged from US-Iran negotiations held Sunday in Switzerland and would allow quick deconfliction of military activity.

The UK’s Royal Navy ship RFA Lyme arrived in the region this week carrying half a dozen autonomous systems and 270 British and French sailors to support a proposed multinational demining effort. CENTCOM did not respond to requests for comment.
