Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez warned that the United States is on a "dangerous path" that could lead to a "bloodbath in Cuba" as the Trump administration ramps up economic pressure on the island. Rodriguez spoke with ABC News' Whit Johnson in a sit-down interview in Havana on May 7, 2026.

He said he takes President Donald Trump's threats "very seriously" and stated there has been "no progress" in talks between Cuba and the United States.
