President Trump on Saturday dismissed a biography of his second term as "garbage" and stated he had requested and aced cognitive tests three times after completing a physical examination at Walter Reed military hospital at the end of May. " Trump referred to Haberman as "Maggot" and said few people in Washington could pass the test, including her and Swan, whom he bet could not score 50 percent.
He also called the book Regime Change "a joke" and claimed 90 percent of its contents was fake news.
The book, published by Simon & Schuster and based on approximately 1,000 interviews, covers the first 14 months of Trump's second term, including West Wing operations, the White House residence, Mar-a-Lago, Air Force One journeys, foreign trips, and the Jeffrey Epstein crisis in 2025.
As of July 5 it ranked number one on Amazon's most-sold chart and has sold over 300,000 copies. The Independent reported that the Justice Department issued subpoenas to multiple New York Times journalists after the newspaper reported on security concerns about the president's Qatari-gifted Air Force One.
The subpoenas require the journalists to appear before a federal grand jury in New York City on Wednesday, with some delivered by federal agents at reporters' homes. The Justice Department stated its investigation targets those who leak classified information, not reporters, and values the role of the press.
