President Donald J. S. troops will head to Beirut and that any already on their way have been turned back. Trump posted the announcement on Truth Social after holding a call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

He described the call as very productive and said it concerned the situation in Lebanon. Trump also stated that Israel would send no troops to Beirut. The same message was repeated in nearly identical wording across multiple posts.

Through highly placed representatives, Trump said he had a very good call with Hezbollah. He stated that Hezbollah agreed to a potential ceasefire and that all shooting will stop. The statement on Truth Social followed the call between President Trump and Netanyahu.
