President Trump ended an interview with NBC News after moderator Kristen Welker questioned his statements that California's ongoing vote count showed evidence of rigging. The exchange occurred during a session recorded in Wisconsin and broadcast Sunday on Meet the Press. Trump pointed to several high-profile races that remained undecided four days after polls closed.

With more than 70 percent of expected ballots counted, several statewide and local races remained within a percentage point. Welker asked Trump whether he had evidence to support his claims. Trump replied that the delayed results themselves constituted proof.

Welker responded that the pace reflected California's voting procedures, including extended deadlines for mail ballots and signature verification. Trump said the same pattern occurred in prior elections. Welker said no evidence had been presented to support claims of rigging.

Trump then accused the network of bias. “You’re a one-sided crooked network,” Trump said. “Let’s call it quits because I’ve had enough. ” Trump removed his microphone before walking off. After the segment aired, Welker said she spoke with Trump afterward and he agreed to a follow-up interview.

Trump also criticized Meet the Press and other outlets before leaving the set.
