Trump spoke by phone with the Ukrainian and Russian leaders on Sunday. Hours later, Russia launched more than 60 missiles at Kyiv, striking the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra monastery. Ukrainian officials reported that 70 missiles and 611 drones were used against Ukraine in total, resulting in 28 injuries and four deaths in the capital.
Trump made the comments during a bilateral meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron in Evian, France. He confirmed that a memorandum of understanding to end the war with Iran and reopen the Strait of Hormuz has been signed. An official ceremony is scheduled for Friday in Switzerland, with Vice President JD Vance leading the U.S. delegation.
