Trump Moves Cabinet Meeting From Camp David to White House
President Trump postponed a planned Cabinet meeting at the presidential retreat due to forecast thunderstorms and will hold it at the White House instead. The session is expected to cover foreign policy updates on the Iran conflict along with economic and fraud-related topics.
ABC NewsPresident Trump announced Tuesday that he had canceled plans to hold a Cabinet meeting at Camp David on Wednesday and will instead convene the session at the White House because of expected thunderstorms. "Based on the possible bad weather conditions tomorrow, we will be having our Cabinet Meeting in the White House, and will be postponing the Cabinet trip to Camp David," Trump posted on his social media platform.
The National Weather Service has forecast thunderstorms in the Washington region for Wednesday. Presidents typically travel to the retreat by helicopter, and rain prompted the change in venue.
Cabinet members are expected to attend the rescheduled session. The meeting is set to highlight recent administration actions on the economy, small-business measures, fraud-elimination efforts, and foreign-policy developments. The gathering will focus on the ongoing conflict with Iran. It is also expected to address domestic economic conditions and the administration's fraud crackdown.
Trump's last visit to Camp David occurred in June 2025, when he convened his foreign policy team to discuss the Iranian nuclear threat and the war in Gaza. The retreat is located in Catoctin Mountain Park in Thurmont, Maryland. The decision to hold an official Cabinet meeting at the site would have marked a departure from typical practice.
Trump held a Cabinet meeting there in September 2017 during his first term.
U.S. forces conducted strikes in southern Iran on Monday that Central Command described as self-defense measures to protect troops from threats posed by Iranian forces. Targets included missile-launch sites and Iranian boats attempting to lay mines.
The strikes followed a weekend of negotiations between the Trump administration and Iranian officials aimed at ending the conflict that began in February. A fragile ceasefire took hold on April 8 but has been interrupted by sporadic exchanges of fire.
Iran's Foreign Ministry condemned the latest attacks and said it would leave no act of hostility unanswered.
