Trump Net Approval Among Men Falls to -21 in Latest Poll
A new Economist/YouGov survey shows President Trump’s approval rating among men at 38 percent and disapproval at 59 percent. The net rating of -21 marks the lowest point recorded in the series since the start of his second term.
NewsweekThe survey, conducted May 29–June 1, 2026, among 1,604 U.S. adult citizens, carries a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points. The result continues a downward trend that began after the start of the second term. Net approval stood at +16 in late January 2025, remained positive through June 2025, then moved into negative territory by November 2025 at -10.
The previous week’s poll had shown 38 percent approval and 57 percent disapproval among men, for a net rating of -19. The two consecutive surveys indicate the net deficit widened by two points in one week.
Monthly readings document a steady erosion.
Net approval fell to -2 in January 2026, then to -10 in February, -12 in March, -11 in April, and sharply lower in May and June. The cumulative drop from early 2025 totals 37 points. A White House spokesperson has stated that the administration continues to focus on jobs, inflation, and housing affordability, and has pointed to the 2024 election results as the primary measure of public support.
