The order follows his May 21 cancellation of a planned Oval Office event with tech executives over concerns the policy could affect U.S. leadership in AI.

The government will be able to work with trusted partners that will have early access to covered frontier models to promote secure innovation and strengthen the cybersecurity of critical infrastructure, the order states.
It was not immediately clear to what extent the order differed from the one Trump declined to sign on May 21. Trump postponed a White House ceremony less than two weeks before signing the order. He canceled an Oval Office event with tech industry executives on May 21 because he did not like what he saw in the earlier version of the order’s text.
