President Donald Trump delivered an address marking America’s 250th anniversary during the Freedom 250 Salute to America celebration, Fox News reported. The Great American State Fair was held on the National Mall as part of the July 4, 2026, semiquincentennial events in Washington, D.C. Military flyovers and performances by the U.S.

Army Band took place during the July 4-5 Independence Day observances. A fireworks display using more than 850,000 fireworks set a Guinness World Record on July 5, though the show was delayed by a thunderstorm. In 1826, former Presidents Thomas Jefferson and John Adams both died on July 4, hours apart. A memorial service honoring the two men was later held in Washington, D.C. The 1876 Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia ran from May 20 to Nov.
