Trump and Starmer Discuss Iran Deal by Phone

President Trump and U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke by phone on Saturday about Iran deal negotiations. A readout from the prime minister's office confirmed the call took place.

Trump stated on June 12 that terms reported by Iranian state media have no connection to the agreement reached in writing between the United States and Iran. He wrote that Iranian statements, including claims of having a deal, bear no relation to the truth.

The president described Iranian leaders as very dishonorable people to deal with. He said there is no such thing as dealing in good faith with them.

Trump also addressed an Iranian drone attack that targeted Indian ships leaving the Strait of Hormuz on the night of June 11. He said the attack was totally rebuffed and totally unacceptable. He added that Iranian authorities should get their act together and fast.

Multiple outlets reported the same statements from the president's Truth Social account. The post did not specify any next steps or timeline for further talks.
