U.S. policy regarding Taiwan. "I'm not looking to have somebody go independent," he stated. He questioned whether the United States is supposed to travel 9,500 miles to fight a war over Taiwan.

He said he did not feel optimistic about the release of Jimmy Lai. Trump said he felt optimistic about the second detainee whose release is now under consideration. U.S. left Iran’s bridges and electricity capacity intact but could knock them out in two days.

U.S. has been involved in Iran for two and a half months. He contrasted the current timeline with past conflicts, noting Vietnam lasted 19 years, Iraq was like 10 years, Korea was seven years and other engagements lasted 14, 12 and nine years respectively.

U.S. is currently choosing not to escalate further.
