The 2015 agreement required Iran to limit nuclear activities, cap uranium enrichment, and permit international inspections of nuclear sites. It also provided for the lifting of certain sanctions on Iranian oil exports and the release of billions in previously frozen Iranian assets. -Iran agreement would be different or a significant improvement from the 2015 deal.
He stated that the 2015 deal worked for a long stretch of time before the United States pulled out of it. Obama said he hopes the Trump administration stops the bombing and that ordinary people are no longer suffering as a consequence of war. He said diplomacy could solve 80 to 90 percent of the problem while avoiding war.
He added that the lesson that diplomacy should be exhausted before going to war must be relearned periodically.
