Trump Says U.S.-Iran Talks Continue Daily, Calls Break Reports Fake News

President Trump said Tuesday that talks with Iran have continued without interruption, including on the day of his remarks. He addressed recent media coverage that suggested contact had stopped and labeled those reports fake news.

Trump posted on Truth Social that discussions with Iran are moving at a rapid pace. He told NBC News he had not been informed of any Iranian decision to halt the talks. He also reported a call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and a separate conversation through representatives with Hezbollah.

In those exchanges, he said both sides agreed that shooting would stop and that no additional troops would move toward Beirut. Netanyahu posted on X confirming the call and stating that Israel would strike terror targets in Beirut if Hezbollah continued attacking Israeli cities.

Central Command said it conducted self-defense strikes against Iranian sites after Iranian forces shot down a U.S. military drone and launched ballistic missiles toward American forces in Kuwait. The command added that it intercepted the missiles and that the April ceasefire remains in place. Trump told NBC News the naval blockade of Iranian ports would continue regardless of the status of talks.
