President Trump said wind is the most expensive form of energy and attributed part of Prime Minister Keir Starmer's unpopularity to support for wind farms. The Independent reported that offshore wind currently averages around £97 per megawatt-hour while onshore wind averages around £77 per megawatt-hour.

Gas prices have reached roughly £108 per megawatt-hour after instability in the Middle East, according to the same report. The Independent stated that renewables such as wind and solar are less exposed to wars and supply shocks than fossil fuels. The report noted that this reduced exposure makes wind and solar less vulnerable to global crises and sudden price spikes.
