Trump Says Xi Agrees Iran Must Reopen Strait of Hormuz
President Trump said Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed Iran must reopen the Strait of Hormuz after two days of talks in Beijing. Trump stated he did not ask Xi for any favors on the issue and is considering lifting sanctions on Chinese oil companies that buy Iranian crude.

Trump spoke to reporters aboard Air Force One while returning from a two-day summit in Beijing focused on trade and regional security.
"I'm not asking for any favors because when you ask for favors, you have to do favors in return," Trump said when asked whether Xi had committed to pressuring Iran. U.S. sanctions on Chinese oil companies that purchase Iranian crude. China remains the largest buyer of Iranian oil.
