Tucker Carlson Says He Will Help Build a Third Party

Tucker Carlson said he plans to help build a third party after leaving the Republican Party last month. The announcement came in an interview published Wednesday with the Columbia Journalism Review. Carlson stated the effort should focus on what benefits the country.

Carlson previously announced his departure from the Republican Party over continued U.S. support for Israel amid conflicts in the Middle East, including the Israeli military’s war with Hamas in Gaza. He has also blamed Israel for the U.S. war with Iran.

He said people earning around $60,000 a year face declining life expectancy and reduced prospects for their children. Carlson added that the U.S. government should prioritize the welfare of its own people over foreign conflicts.

Carlson described Republicans and Democrats as operating in a “one-party state” on matters of war and finance. He said the parties show “lockstep solidarity” on those issues. Carlson concluded that a third party is needed to break the current system.
