Two large Bitcoin holders sold a combined total of 2,521 BTC valued at $205.26 million seven hours ago. The sales occurred after the holders had acquired the cryptocurrency at lower prices in recent weeks. One wallet, identified as bc1qlu, purchased 1,470 BTC for $109.44 million three weeks ago at an average price of $74,448 per bitcoin.
That wallet sold its entire position seven hours ago, generating a profit of $10.23 million. The second wallet, bc1qyh, bought 1,051 BTC for $82.35 million five days ago at an average price of $78,325 per bitcoin. This position was also sold seven hours ago, resulting in a gain of $3.24 million.
The combined sales represent profit-taking by holders who entered positions at prices below current market levels. Bitcoin's price has fluctuated since the purchases, allowing both wallets to exit with positive returns. Such large transactions by individual holders are routinely tracked on the blockchain by on-chain analysts.
The sales add to the volume of Bitcoin moving from long-term holders to other market participants.
